Age spots or liver spots are flat or brown spots. They appear on the face, hands and shoulders. They are more common as we age and are caused by exposure to the sun.
They can be easily removed in two or three sessions a month or so apart using our Nd-YAG laser. A laser is fired at the age spot which feels like a little sting. Afterwards the age spot will darken and a scab will form. When the scab has gone the skin will be a little pink but will return to its normal colour in a week or so.
It is important to avoid sun bathing or the use of sun beds during the treatment and to use SPF30 sun block to protect the skin. Age spots are likely to reoccur, particularly if you actively sun bath.
